When the common core started, they added new topics for teachers to teach. One of them was Fractions on a Number Line. It was just one more thing teachers had to learn to teach their students. But, that’s okay! Now, there’s a game to help review this new concept.

 

Fractions on a Number Line Powerpoint Game.

In this game, students play against students to determine the unknown fraction on the number line. First, divide your students into teams. Next, start the Powerpoint. Then, explain the rules of the game. Afterwards, let the student play!

Because it’s a new topic, it can be really challenging. Hints are available to help guide students towards the answer, revealing the 

If you students are like mine were, they will be very competitive. Because of that, this makes a fun game to play for review or even just for a fun Friday activity. Best of all, students are learning and engaged the whole time.
